Deacons are God's ministers of mercy in the body of Christ. Deacons are responsible to minister to those who are in need, the friendless, and to any in distress. Deacons also develop the grace of liberality in the members of the Church, care for the property of the congregation, and are under the supervision and the authority of the Session.
